Discover the graceful beauty of Angelfish, one of the most popular freshwater aquarium fish prized for their unique shape and striking fin display. Native to the Amazon River Basin, Angelfish add elegance and calm charm to community tanks of all sizes.

Appearance and Behavior:
Angelfish are easily recognized by their tall, laterally compressed bodies and long, flowing fins. Their color patterns range from classic silver with black vertical stripes to marbled, albino, and koi varieties. Known for their peaceful yet curious nature, Angelfish are social and do well in groups, especially when introduced early.

Tank Size & Environment:
Angelfish thrive in aquariums of at least 20 gallons (75 liters) but prefer taller tanks due to their vertical body shape. Maintain stable water parameters with temperatures between 76°F to 82°F (24°C to 28°C) and a pH of 6.5 to 7.5. Provide plenty of plants and vertical decorations to mimic their natural habitat and offer hiding spots.

Diet:
These omnivores enjoy a varied diet including high-quality flake or pellet foods supplemented with live or frozen options like brine shrimp, bloodworms, and daphnia. Feeding multiple small meals a day encourages healthy growth and vibrant coloration.

Tank Mates:
Angelfish coexist well with other peaceful fish such as tetras, gouramis, and Corydoras catfish. Avoid aggressive or fin-nipping species to keep stress low. When breeding, Angelfish may become territorial, so extra space and hiding spots are important.

Breeding:
Angelfish are egg layers and attentive parents. They usually lay eggs on flat surfaces like broad leaves or aquarium glass. The pair guards the eggs and fry, making them a rewarding species for hobbyists interested in breeding.

Care Tips:
Regular water changes (25% weekly) and stable water conditions are key to keeping Angelfish healthy. Avoid sudden temperature or pH fluctuations and monitor water quality closely to prevent common diseases such as ich or fin rot.
