The Bristlenose Pleco is a hardy and peaceful algae-eating catfish, perfect for keeping your aquarium clean and lively. Recognised by its unique bristle-like facial growths—especially prominent in males—this bottom-dweller thrives in community tanks and is ideal for beginners and experienced aquarists alike. Bristlenose Plecos are more compact than common plecos, reaching around 4–5 inches in adulthood, making them a better fit for most home aquariums.
They enjoy hiding spots, driftwood, and a varied diet including algae wafers, vegetables like courgette or cucumber, and sinking pellets. A natural worker and eye-catching addition to any tank.
